Logging In to Papyrus Cloud
Accessing your library system securely from any browser
The Login Form
The login screen is displayed whenever you navigate to Papyrus Cloud without an active session, or after your session has ended. It contains two required fields, an optional setting, and two links for account recovery and registration.
| Field / Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Email Address | The email address registered to your Papyrus Cloud user account. This is set up by your library administrator under Parameters → Users. |
| Password | Your account password. Passwords are case-sensitive. If you have not yet set a password, check your email for an invitation message from Papyrus Cloud. |
| Remember Me | An optional checkbox. When ticked, your browser will remember your login so you are not prompted again on your next visit from the same device. See the Remember Me section below before using this on shared computers. |
| Log In button | Submits your credentials. If correct, you are taken directly to the Home Screen of your library. |
| Register as a new user | Opens the registration page to create a new Papyrus Cloud account. See Registering as a new user below. |
| Have you forgotten your password? | Opens the password reset page. See Forgotten password below. |
Logging In — Step by Step
Open your web browser and navigate to papyruscloud.org. The login screen will be displayed automatically if you are not already signed in.
Enter your Email Address in the first field. This must be the address registered to your user account by your library administrator.
Enter your Password in the second field. Passwords are case-sensitive — check that Caps Lock is not active if you are having difficulty.
If you are on your own personal device and would like to stay signed in between visits, tick the Remember Me checkbox. Do not use this on a shared or public computer.
Click the Log In button. If your credentials are correct, you will be taken directly to the Papyrus Cloud Home Screen.
Remember Me
Ticking the Remember Me checkbox instructs your browser to store your login session. On your next visit to papyruscloud.org from the same browser and device, you will be taken directly to the Home Screen without needing to enter your credentials again.
| Situation | Use Remember Me? |
|---|---|
| Your own personal laptop or desktop, used only by you | ✓ Yes — convenient and safe |
| Your personal mobile phone | ✓ Yes — provided your phone has a screen lock |
| A shared library workstation used by multiple staff | ✗ No — other users could access your account |
| A public or school computer | ✗ No — always log out and leave Remember Me unticked |
Login Errors
If your login attempt is unsuccessful, an error message will be displayed on the login screen. The most common causes and their solutions are listed below.
Forgotten Password
If you cannot remember your password, Papyrus Cloud can send you a reset link by email. You do not need to contact your library administrator for this — you can reset your own password at any time.
On the login screen, click Have you forgotten your password?
Enter the email address registered to your account and submit the form.
Check your email inbox for a message from Papyrus Cloud containing a password reset link. If it does not appear within a few minutes, check your spam or junk mail folder.
Click the link in the email. You will be taken to a page where you can enter and confirm a new password.
Once your new password is set, return to the login screen and sign in with your email address and new password.
Registering as a New User
New library staff who need access to Papyrus Cloud can register an account using the Register as a new user link on the login screen. Registration creates a Papyrus Cloud account linked to your email address.
Logging Out
To end your session, click your email address in the top-right corner of any screen to open the user menu, then select Log Out. You can also use the Logout link in the footer of every page.
Logging out ends your session immediately and returns the browser to the login screen. Anyone who then attempts to access Papyrus Cloud from that browser will be required to enter credentials.
Security Advice
Your Papyrus Cloud account gives access to member personal information, circulation records, and system configuration. Keeping your account secure protects your library's data and the privacy of your members.
| Good practice | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Use a strong, unique password | Avoid simple or reused passwords. A mix of letters, numbers and symbols is harder to guess. |
| Do not share your password | Each staff member should have their own account. Sharing credentials makes it impossible to audit who made changes. |
| Log out on shared computers | Prevents other users from accessing library data under your credentials. |
| Do not use Remember Me on shared devices | Stored sessions can be accessed by anyone who opens the browser after you. |
| Use the correct URL | Always access Papyrus Cloud via papyruscloud.org. Bookmark this address to avoid phishing sites. |
| Report suspected unauthorised access | If you notice unexpected activity in your account, change your password immediately and notify your library administrator. |
